Do the benefits of tourism outweigh the costs

The benefits of tourism are more than the cost. Many agree with the benefits of tourism while many are opposed to it. In this essay I will look at the arguments for and against the tourism.

To begin with let us examine why some people are against tourism. Some people think that the tourism will increase the income of the area. For instants, tourist will have to pay the taxis and buy some goods from the country so that will increase the income. Another point of view is that tourism will reduce the amount of people who can’t find a job and the job chances will increase. For example, When the tourism increase that will open the chance for local people to have a work in tourism staff. Another people believe that the income from tourism may used to improve the poorly areas or the area which need some development. Yet another point to consider tradition. To illustrate, the tourist will help to spread the tradition of that country and that will help this country to keep their tradition as long as they can.

However I disagree with these arguments and many people agree with me. Some people think that it’s better if they use the cost for improve the country instead of spend it for attract the tourists. This people think that the country is should have Priority more than attracting the tourists. Another point of view is that the tourists destroy the ancient monuments or heritage sites. When the tourist came to these places they will not care about keep the place clean or safe so they only care about taking picture and observation. Yet another point to consider is that some time the tourists make some caricature for local people and their cultural. For examples, there are some tourist requiring inhabitants and take picture for local people to make others laugh.

All and all, there are some advantages and disadvantages for this issue. I think that the costs outweigh the benefits of tourism because it’s better to spend money to develop inside the country instead of attracting the tourist.
